AMAG 44 LEOPOLD BANCHINI

His work frequently emerges from a performative process in which architecture is not merely produced but enacted. Building becomes a collective operation, and the people involved become its medium. (...)

His interventions are restrained, often almost provisional in appearance, yet through this reduction they acquire a distinct monumentality. Not the one of mass or permanence, but of intensity. A few elements, precisely assembled, can establish a place of remarkable presence. (...)

His projects begin with an attentive reading of their cultural and material circumstances. Working across different contexts requires him to begin again each time – to understand available materials, local practices, climate, habits and forms of inhabitation. (...) Each project becomes a new negotiation.

This attitude also restores a particular value to craftsmanship.
