Based in Valencia, Fran Silvestre Arquitectos reflects an architecture of rigour based on the systematic use of sharp geometric forms and the language of whiteness. The way the houses relate to the surrounding landscapes, the fluid organisation of their interiors, and how large glazed surfaces open to the outside might recall the California modernism that emerged in the 1950s. Yet they address a whole range of other concerns, from climatic transformations to the experimentations made possible through the use of new technologies. This volume features fourteen realised works along with newly planned projects, such as a landmark wind tower situated in Valencia’s port.
